Can you believe it? I sure can't. Where has the time gone?
I have been so busy lately. And school hasn't even started yet. Once that does, I will be on the spinning merry-go-round, begging to get off.
Things have been crazy around these parts. I won't bore you with all the details. ok, just a few ;)
I decided to have a yard sale this weekend. The forecast was for sunny days both Friday and Saturday. Mom and Dad took the monkeys Thursday afternoon, and would keep them till Sat. This way I wouldn't have to deal with them.
Got everything ready on Thursday night. Woke up bright and early Friday and did the last few things. And I was ready. I sat. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally about 3 hours after opening, I had a customer. That was how the day went. Hardly anyone came. In the past, Friday's always did very well. I would normally make the majority of my $$$ then. I did crap. I made a whopping $70. It's my own fault, as I didn't get the ad to the paper in time.
So I packed up at 2pm. Got everything to fit under our canopy. I knew that it was forecasted to rain/storm in the evening, but the radar was looking really good. (the original forecast was for sun--it changed Thursday to chance of rain) Denny came home and it started looking really dark out. I mentioned to him that maybe I should pack the stuff up. He looked at me and said "It's already raining, and has been for quite some time." I was like HUH????? The darkness I was seeing was the actual storm over our house. I had no time to do anything. The rain was DUMPING and I mean DUMPING on our house. A huge storm decided to settle right over the east side of Huntington.
I was screwed. So I said forget it, and we will just survey the damage in the morning. It couldn't be that bad, could it???
I get up Saturday to see what happened. (note that it stormed MORE through the night, like ALL NIGHT LONG)
oh
my
lanta
Everything was soaked. Soaked. Like if you stop your washer before the spin cycle and take out the clothes. We literally had to wring out the water on each clothing item.
I decided to say the hell with it. I covered the tables back up and went inside.
Screw the sale.
Denny and I went out later and did what we could. We moved the tables towards the back yard, and figured we would let the sun dry it all out.
Just ridiculous.

On a lighter note, my computer went down yesterday. LOL I was online one moment and then bam! It wouldn't connect. Tried everything I knew to get it working. Resorted to calling AT&T. After 2 hours on the phone (wasn't too bad--I got to talk to a nice man from Texas with a lovely southern drawl) I found out that the problem was not mine, it was from something in South Bend, where my connection is made. Several hours later, I was able to surf the net.
Speaking of southern drawl, what is it with a man and an accent? Why does it make women fall at their feet? I am one for an accent. Don't really wanna quote Paris Hilton, but man that's hot! I could call him up every day and report a problem, just to hear him talk. It's awesome.
