Just one of those days

****WARNING*****
Throwing up is mentioned several times in this post. Just wanted to let you know!

I should of known.

I should of paid attention to the red flags I saw last night.

If I had, I would of known today would be one of those days.

I was putting the kids to bed, and Olivia announces she is thirsty. (we go through this darn near every night, so the kids get a warning when it's 5 mins till bedtime...this way they can get their drinks, bathroom time, etc in before the actual going to bed part)
I explain that she knew it was bedtime and she wasn't getting a drink.
You would think that I told her that she couldn't ever play outside again. Or that her bike was being sold.

The fit began. Crying. Yelling. More crying. Throwing herself down on the floor.

*side note* Denny let her sleep about 30mins between 5 and 6pm. This is a HUGE NO NO. If it happens, Liv is not tired at bedtime (8:30pm) and throws the fit that is mentioned above. Every. Single. Time.

She finally went to bed, crying. But came down 20 mins later, stating she was still thirsty and her tummy hurt. Knowing she was upstairs crying all this time, I sent her back up. Figuring her tummy hurt from crying so much. 30 mins later, she returns with the same arguement. Once again, I send her back up.

*side note* My kids like to play this game. It happens at least 2x week. Per girl. I get soooo tired of it.

20 mins later, I hear her STILL crying. I go to the stairs and there she sits, sobbing. She tells me she spit up a bit on her blankey. I get her a tissue and tell her to get a new blanket and go back up stairs to sleep. It's very late and she has school in the morning.

Suddenly a lightbulb goes off. She told me earlier that Rebecca (friend at school) had spit up during class. I immediately run upstairs and yup, you guessed it.

She threw up. Not spit up. All over her blanket.
[insert horrible Mommy feeling here]

I bring her back downstairs, give her some water, clean pj's and give her a new blanket. She tells me she feels better and so I tell her to try and get some sleep.

This morning, I go up to get the girls up. Low and behold, there is more puke all over the floor. Everywhere. I darn near puked myself.

*side note* Puke never used to bother me. Nothing did. I used to work in dialysis and would have people puke, sh#t and even squirt blood all over me. And it would never phase me. Even when Ed would puke up his sardines. (remember him Michele?) Then I got pregnant with Tyler, and everything changed. Certain smells make me so nauseaous, so bad I could swear I was pregnant, when I knew I wasn't. Must be something about having all that testosterone hanging out in your body for 9 mons that screws ya up. Ever since him, I haven't been able to tolerate anything that I used to. Heck watching surgeries makes me so sick, I have to turn away. (and I think I want to be a nurse???)

Long story short, the monkey is home today. No fever, no other symptoms than throwing up. So my plans got changed around today.

I just now was able to make myself go upstairs and clean up the mess. Fortunately it didn't reek as bad as I thought it would. I managed to get it all cleaned up, and get the nasties in the washer, without making some nasties of my own.

In my almost 8 years of parenting, I have not really ever had to deal with puke. Sure when the kids were small, they would puke up formula. But that was nothing compared to a 5 1/2 yr old who eats everything under the sun. Madison has only thrown up a few times in her life. This makes Olivia's 2nd time. I remember when I was pregnant with Tyler, Liv was sick. I was rocking her, when she sat up and out it all came, all over me. Oh boy was THAT fun.

So now, she is on the couch, watching Sponge Bob. Loving all the attention from Mommy.
Let's hope the puking is done.

That sounds like the best night ever....NOT! And no, I do not remember Ed puking sardines. I remember him eating them though. That was bad enough!
